Choosing a Theme

I currently have a meeting booked with my client for next week, past when this week's work is due, given this circumstance I'm choosing a temporary theme to show my client which I will also be showing along with a selection of other themes.

 Temporarily I will be using vantage by siteorigin to get a better grasp on the page layout.

 Key points in mind when searching for themes:
  • Simplicity
  • Professional
  • Minimalistic
  • Fits well with Smokehouse color scheme and site objectives
How does this theme suit the websites requirements?

In my search I aimed for a theme that retains a clutter free environment for users to decisively navigate to the sites core features, a couple features that help this goal are:

  • consistent  menu across all pages and  as the user scrolls down the page
  • simplistic font
  • intuitive flow to the website (easy for elderly people to navigate)
  • pre built picture slider for company photos
  • suits the one column style appropriately  
  • top header area suits banner image client wants me to use
  • suits current content layout client wants me to use
To fill some gaps I will be using a range of plugins to extend the functionality of this template:

  • google maps
  • social media sharing buttons
  • soe plugin
  • possible picture slider upgrade from themes default option
  • shop plugin
  • contact form plugin

Add a Contact form (12 marks) (Recommended resource: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/contact+form/ ) Blog: Explain how the form was added and how you made it fit in with the sites look and feel. I have chosen ninjaforms to add a contact form to my contact page of the website, this specific plugin carries the simplistic design whilst also being easy to change for other needs if the site owner requires in the future. Here is the plugin incorporated onto the contact page, due to the main content theme being white is was rather easy to slot it into the page without too much worry over colour themeing, although I would like to look into making it more compact to help keep the page feeling comfortable.
